Inamorata

Inamorata

A Poem by Neal S

In your mouth you hold my heart

In your hand my dreams

Upon your wrist the future rest

Your feet in my hands, the water cleans

The smell of your skin is my baking bread

The small of your back my home

You are inamorata, forever

Every smile, Every step, Every cell, Every bone

~ i really liked the way this piece of poetry unraveled... ~ the title is unusual and yet by the time one reaches the last two lines, one can relate to it so well... ~ and i like the flavour of contemporary english which gets accentuated by the the deployment of the words "cell" and "bone"... and i like the flavour of classical english which gets highlighted in the expression "The smell of your skin is my baking bread"... ~ this is definitely a rewarding read...

Thank you so much, i'm glad you liked it!
This is exactly how it feels in love but very rarely can one express with this kind of devotion.. An absolute pleasure reading it every verse, every word in its pure essence..
Delightful adoration Neal, for one's Inamorata ..what a lyrical word! Thank you very much for the RR. I would have missed a masterpiece..

Thanks for taking the time to read it. And for the lovely review!
Inamorato - was going to google that one. But once you start to read the poem you totally get what it's about. I am sure that many of us can relate to this poem. How a one who you love so dear, literally meaning the world to you. I have to say that this made me think of my wife and how much i dearly love her. She is my world and forever will be.

This is such a beautiful poem.

Mark.

"...the small of your back, my home" did it for me. The smell of skin being the baking bread gave the love a good foundation.

This gives an ethereal feeling, Neal.

Once again. Thank you for taking the time.
Interesting. This seemed to progress. It is one of those writes that make you feel that the next line is the one that should go there and no other will do.

Thank you ma'am! :)
A dissection of love that can only be articulated by a poet in this way. I agree with the reviewer who descibed the style and language as being "classical".,which makes it so effective.
