Awaken

Awaken

A Poem by Neal S

Electro hippie dances in the corner
Tubular crystal dreads
Projecting color matrix over our faces
The floor rises up to meet her feet with rhythmic incomprehension
What fluid step may come next
We set drinking blue
Watching her movements
Like mathematicians brainstorming the next equation
Her pattern becomes clear
And vanishes
That was the night we burned the paradox
And would forever become knowing

The rain pushes us further out into the night
Upward towards bliss
Only love or the taste of another drug
On the tongue
Would complete
The patterns encompass us
Pulling to the destination
Of being
Of knowing
Or maybe even finally
Living

Neal S,
"Awaken"
I will never become tired of how people retain the tihings they do. If this poem is a tale of experience then you have an amazing memory. Many write using phrases which register a picture or an image that can be seen. This poem does that somewhat and it is impressive.

This reminds me of midnight hikes from my youth, raising money for charity, while high as giraffe p***y on acid. Walking along the grass that sang to me, seeing more colours than the spectrum of our limited sight allowed and noticing the beauty around us, in an intensity of understanding that we are connected to everything around us, if only we opened our eyes to see. Brilliantly captured Neal, love the ending.

risk taking can be dangerous ..this is a flash back for me ...specifically waaaaaaaaaaaay back in LA at a "Mothers of Invention" concert .. there were four or five other bands as well but they didn't register ..just the Mothers did ;) i woke up in a strange car and wrote thank you through the fog on the back windshield ..it was the least i could do ..
