Unkind

Unkind

A Poem by Mika Haruna

On the ledge I sit
Looking out at the millions of lights
By the happy souls they are dimly lit
Sorrow and loneliness fill my being
as i look at the water below
my thoughts are slowly fleeing

To a time so long ago
when I had friends and people to turn to
when the lazy days went by so slow
to a time when I kept on going
and enjoyed the company of others
slowly it's leaving me, fading

where did those happy days go?
when did I stop feeling so happy?
When did I stop letting it all show?

I'll just leave it all behind
And hope that when I come back
The voices won't be so unkind

Thank you! ^.^
Ah, I was able to understand the speaker's sense of loneliness through how they reminisced to the past. I liked it!
