A Nerd Is What I Am

A Nerd Is What I Am

A Poem by Nerd

I seem to lack persona cool

Unwilling and unable

To dress myself in words sublime

While composing fantastic fable

I do love words, they are my friends

And writing suits me fine

But it's me I choose to represent

The stories are all mine

A lover of truth is what I am

I take a stand against what's fake

For every vampire that crosses my path

Receives a wooden stake

Carved by hands that know true pain

Hewn by a weary soul

Fashioned by emotions deep

My life is your black hole

I take a stand and take a bow

Knowing that I do not belong

In a world where fantasy reigns supreme

And right is blended with wrong

Escape is what we're looking for

A relief from daily strife

But there's no need to hide yourself

In a make-believe life

Take off the mask and lay down the script

Delete the made-up name

Stop and think of who you are

And tell the world your story, your song, your right and your wrong, your pleasure and your pain, your loss and your gain, be who you are and have no fear, don't hide, show yourself, be good to yourself, you are not a fairy and you are not a vampire, no, you are you, and that's good enough, tell me, tell us, tell the world who you are

A Nerd is what I am. I'm raising lots of little nerds now, too. Adventures are where we find them. Or where they find us. I liked your words a lot.

It's more fun to be yourself and be accepted by you then to please everyone else and be unhappy!Good work!
