Tattoo With Melody

Tattoo With Melody

A Poem by nickchidiac

I’ve been thinking about my first tattoo

And of what marks the man should do.

I think I’ll do an ode to those

Who have captured my audio receptors most.

I’ll start with Blink 182,

Whose innocence I’ve treasured true.

And Say Anything, with clever hooks,

Got me to give my pen a look,

But once I got my best words flowing,

Its La Dispute that kept me going,

And every time they start to stop,

Brand New will end the writers block.

Bob Dylan, with his clever thoughts

Was free of fear from fights he fought.

The Offspring brought the good punk back

So Bad Religion wasn’t the only act.

When confidence is my mental pleaser

I’ve always had a whim for Weezer.

The Chili Peppers are always nice

When I hear them once, I don’t think twice.

But Modest Mouse is my newest addiction

Its ‘noise’ perfected, not rhythm friction

And last but not least I must mention The Killers

The original, beautiful, emotion spillers.

I know this list will likely change

But ill have colorful scars to mark my range.

So read these words and treasure your music

And remember your taste so you can always choose it.

Just like I’ll show my first born son.

Ill show you all the work he's done

To make me and my music one

Nice write. I like the way it flowed. Your feelings for music come through loud and clear and the influence it has had on you as well. Tats are your choice, just remember they are there forever. (Yes I have some)

Wow!!! This flowed around in my head like a collage of words. I have no clue why. This is a really well written piece. I love it!

sweet, tattoos or mokos as my peeps put them, are supposed to mean something about the wearer...all of mine have significant meaning...er...well, the first one i got was just to get one...but otherwise..yeah..ahem

Sweet! I liked it! Going in for another tattoo tomorrow, myself. Commemorating finishing my first book... That was almost two years ago but I finally got around to it! Gotta head to bed but I'll check out some more of your stuff over the next few days!

DON'T DO IT! Like musical influences tattoos are indelible; however the imprint of music on the soul will surely outlast our affinity for the images and thoughts etched in our skin. BUT, if the tattoos will be of things musical, music that has touched your soul ... then okay, the feeling may outlast the ink. Nice poem. Music that touches and tattoos that seek to reveal the soul may be, as stated, as one.

What an awesome tattoo that will be! I myself, when I was younger wanted nothing more than to get Blink-182 tattood on my body... I was obsessed. I like the way you didn't seperate this poem into stanzas, it keeps the whole thing flowing without a break and you revealed a lot about yourself in it aswell. When I got my first tattoo, a few people told me I would regret having it when I'm an old lady, but it's a part of who you are, where you've been or what once held high standings in your life. I don't think anyone should ever regret a tattoo. I actually wrote a poem myself on the topic, strange enough. Anyway, great write thanks for the read request
