William Henry Harrison ( President #9) (1841)

William Henry Harrison ( President #9) (1841)

A Chapter by MandaBear
"

Ninth President of the United States of America

"
William Henry Harrison was number 9.
In the presidency he spend little time.
William Henry Harrison was only in for 31 days.
He died of pneumonia.

William Henry Harrison studied to be a doctor.
He had to leave though after his father died.
He didn't have any money.
William Henry Harrison joined the army to earn a living.

William Henry Harrison had ten children.
48 grand children and great grand children.
That's a lot of mouths to feed.
In fact one of the grand children became the 23rd president.

William Henry Harrison made the longest inauguration speech.
It last nearly two hours.
He made this speech on a cold rainy day.
He refused to wear a hat or a coat.

This would explain why he got sick.
Later died of pneumonia.
I think he should have worn at least his coat.
Maybe he wouldn't have gotten that cold.

William Henry Harrison had a nickname.
It was Old Tippecanoe.
He had defeated hostile Native Americans.
At the battle of Tippecanoe in the Ohio River Valley in 1811.

So this is William Henry Harrison.
He was only the president for a short time.
I wonder what he would have done if he had stayed longer.
We will never know. I hope it would have been good.

[Adams-Harrison] You always teach me lots of new things about the presidents! These are well-written, and I would consider cleaning them up just a little and seeing if you could get them published.

Personal touch to the end, isn't it crazy thinking about the multiple possibilities that could have arose, that never did!

William Harrison, how do you phrase? That guy was dead in thirty days!

Hm, I guess they got it wrong. Or maybe they shortened it on purpose. It wouldn't work if it was 'that guy was dead in thirty one days.' Too many syllables
