"

Eighteenth President of the United States of America

"
Ulysses Simpson Grant is number 18.
"General"-ly speaking he was a good guy.
He was a general in the Union Army.
He had many victories in the Civil war.
Ulysses Simpson Grant was a sloppy dresser before becoming president.
As a baby he weighed ten and three quarter pounds.
He was the first president to have both his parents living as he entered office.
Amazingly he could ride his horse standing up.
Mark Twain talked to Ulysses S. Grant into writing a book.
Grant wrote the book about his life and the war.
He finished the book only days before he died.
I guess it was a life changing experience.
Ulysses Simpson Grant had been invited to the Ford Theater.
However, his wife Julia decided to travel to NJ.
They we were going to visit their children.
If he has been there we would have lost 2 great figures in History at the same time.
Ulysses Simpson Grant was considered to be one of the worst presidents.
He was marked by five major scandals.
Including but not limited to "Black Friday", "Whiskey Ring" and "Belknap Bribery".
I guess someone needs a rabbits foot don't you think?
Ulysses Simpson Grant would scream and rave and rant.
He liked drinking whiskey although risky.
I hope he didn't spill it one his pants.
Maybe he could get Andrew Johnson to fix his pants.

He was a wild man. He is a very interesting President. Only two General made great presidents. Grant wasn't one of them. He took over at a hard time. He did okay. Thank you for the story of a good president.
