Gerald Ford (President #38) (1974-1977)

A Chapter by MandaBear
"

Thirty Eighth President of the United States of America

"
Gerald R Ford is number 38.
He was never voted for and never ran for president.
Why? you ask.
Well Richard M Nixon chose Gerald to replace him.

Gerald R Ford was the only president to be born in Nebraska.
He was also the only president to be a resident of Michigan.
He was the first president whose parents were divorced.
He was also the first president to be an Eagle Scout.

Gerald R Ford was a football player before becoming president.
He was the center and a linebacker.
He got offers from two famous football teams.
The Detroit Loins and the Green Bay Packers. (Go Ravens! lol)

Gerald R Ford vetoed 15 bills in his first three months in office.
He was only in office for 896 days.
During his time in office unemployment decreased.
He cut inflation by more than half.
For the first time in over a decade the US is at peace abroad.

Gerald R Ford was a model before becoming president.
He was in Look magazine and the cover of Cosmopolitan. (Kinda girly)
He is the only president to have worked as a model.
I guess you could say he was a "Model" president. (ha-ha)

This is Gerald R Ford number 38.
He wasn't president long but he did help the country.
He could have played football or been a model.
I guess being president was just a job not worth passing up.
