Sometimes It's good to forget

I miss you although I shouldn’t 

I never forgot how you treated me 

So sweet in the beginning and left me at the end 

No goodbye just left 

Now I’m with him

He treats me like a queen 

Which is more than I can say for you 

But I think of you sometimes

Maybe it’s my head wishing it was different 

Maybe my heart hoping it was you instead 

Maybe it’s me wanting more 

Maybe it’s me wanting you 

I can’t forget how you made me feel 

The way you made me feel like a princess 

Like we were the only two people in the world 

Like  I was your whole world 

The times you left me with no reply 

The times you made it seem like it was my fault 

The times you were angry 

Making me believe I was always the cause 

Tell me one minute you loved me 

Only to find you were telling others the same 

Feeding me your sweet words 

When they didn’t mean a thing

Now I’m with him 

He puts me before himself

Which is more than I can say for you 

But I think of you less now 

He has taken my heart 

He puts a smile on my face 

He makes me forget everything you ever did

He makes me forget you

Hmm, interesting. I've always found "falling in love" at my age to be a dangerous endeavor. Heck, love in any human form is a dangerous endeavor, but at mine it is a most foolish action. The youth of our age (i.e. time) or of any age harbor no understanding of what true devoted love is. As far as I'm concerned, I only see as them desiring their companion for selfish reasons hidden under a mask of devotion. What we want is what we want. No one else matters. But until one can see past that, there is no hope for any love. Yet, you have to a measure demonstrated a sort of throwing off of that selfishness, through the lovers devotion to making the narrator feel truly loved unlike her previous lover. Very interesting. Carry on.
