Shattered

So broken inside

You took my feelings and threw them away

Smashed my heart into a million pieces

Acted like it didn't even matter to you

Like I didn't even matter to you

How do you think that makes me feel?

Not that it matters to you anyway

Just brushing them aside like you have more important things to worry about

What a fool I was to think you even cared

Courage is all you said I have

Courage to do what?

Tell you I like you only to be rejected

Only to know that I am meant to be alone

You aren't even the first person to break my heart

My heart is so broken glass can't break into that many pieces

I am not sure there is a heart left

It's just an empty hole of darkness

I told you how I felt

You made it out to be nothing

Just pushed them away

You've broken a heart that can't be fixed

"I wish you had told me from the start

that you were going to break my heart"

I really liked the last lines. It really summed up the frustration and pain throughout the rest of the poem. I also loved the visual presentation; it really helped to set the mood for this poem. Nice work.

Coyote Poetry

Love is our best and our worst days.

Light and darkness is opposite. Maybe in all things. We need pain and pleasure to celebrate being alive. Thank you dear friend for sharing the excellent poetry.
