Writer's Block

Writer's Block

A Poem by MandaBear
"

I took this quote "There is no such thing as writer's block for writers whose standards are low enough" by American poet William Stafford and interpreted it in my own way i hope you enjoy!

"
Nothing to write about and can’t think of anything.
Every idea coming through your mind doesn’t seem good enough.
Wishing and hoping something will inspire you to write.
The blank page is starting back at you as though it is mocking you.
Tapping the pen on the desk waiting for any suggestions,
Doodling on the edge of the paper…
Then out of no where you get a spark of genius
You quickly pick up your pen and write like the wind
Soon your brainwaves are flowing out of control…
The text is bringing the inspiration you have been longing for.
As your fire starts to come to a close you look down at what you have written and realize….
You have only constituted a sentence.
A mere start to the genuine genius you had.
Now you are back where you started…
An idea is in the making for the future.
Just remember :
"There is no such thing as writer's block for writers whose standards are low enough"

I couldn't agree more; the agitation and frustration of writer's block can really be demotivating but this person sees the one sentence as a positive start and a piece of work that is on the way to become a big success. Nice write! Xox

There's no writers block here you penned this perfectly... you know for me it's not as much as a writers block from my mind..it's when my heart is speaking to my brain and my brain is translating in a different language..they battle it out and then boom.. I get to write..xx

Last statement is true. A writer can find something to write about. I like to go to the dictionary and find words I do not use. I read the old Poet's and find verses to motivate me. The writers and Poet's of the 1400-1800 were true word men and woman. I wish I had their time and wisdom.Thank you for the excellent poem.
