The Last One Alone

The Last One Alone

A Poem by Night Edge

Digging up the graves
To find the bodies underneath
Five dollars a shovel
The man earns his keep
Where are we
And where are you
It's dark but I can't go yet
I can't go

Chorus
Left on the lights
Is somebody home
What's wrong
Loves gone
Chairs in the stairwell
And ropes on the wall
I cry and I lie
Don't say no
Please don't go
I don't want to be
I don't want to be
I don't want to be
The last one alone

It's almost as good
As the next to last thing
You reap what you sow
And you get what you bring
I can't see
And I can't breathe
It's dark but I'm not done here
I'm not done

Chorus

Chairs in the stairwell
And ropes on the wall
I can't guarantee
I'm the last one to fall
All of my nightmares
And all of my dreams
It's dark
But I can't fall asleep

Chorus

Digging up the graves
To find the bodies underneath
It's dark
But I'm the last one
Alone

Brilliant song NE, dark, scarey as hell itself. These thoughts sprang to mind, No you can't guarantee being the last one to fall but, I can guarantee that you are, Not alone in these extraordinary feelings that you describe here in this piece of your soul. We all find ourselves here at some time or another, hopefully we wake up and life gives us something to smile about.

Smiling at you

Tai
