I Never Knew You

A Story by LEX!S

He was standing outside of an old warehouse were the party was going to be. The street corner was crowded with peole waiting to get inside. He turned around and saw a girl and everything brightened up. It was like she brought the sun with her. She walked by him and it felt he was awake for the first. Rain started to lightly pour. He forgot everything he was doing and started to follow her down the street. He couldn't gather the courage to talk to her or even make sentence. He followed her, forgetting that he was supose to meet his brother inside the party.

He followed her down an empty tunnel but she didn't even glance at him. Her legs were long and toned. He peeked his head out around a tall cement pillar and she slowed her pace and looked over her shoulder at him. Her hair tumbled over her shoulders as the wind blew, but she continued to walk on. He felt like the sky had opened and God had handed her directly to him. He felt as though their paths weren't suppose to cross, but it happened. The girl crossed the street over to her run-down apartments with the number 631 above the entrance. He was going to turn back until the girl stuck her key in the door and entered. He stood across the street feeling incomplete. He walked over to her door that had trash bags filled up just outside of it.

His finger ached to ring the doorbell, but instead he paced back and fourth outside, feeling like an abandoned dog. Somehow he got inside her house and she was looking at him longly. Then something happened between them that they couldn't ignore. Her eyes seemed to be screaming that she wanted nothing to do with him, but she had the chance to leave and she didn't take it. They were face to face for the first time. She was glowing like the sun, and he cupped the side of her face. Suddenly she stopped glowing like the sun and she turned dark grey. He closed his eyes and when he opened them she was gone.
