recurring sadism

recurring sadism

A Poem by nikolaia
"

however you'd like to interpret

"

Stand as I do, alone.
Without you in this ether,
what's been left for me.
Take care, though, I beg.

Speak, and the way you'd like to be heard is gone.
Move, and hope of returning to comfort is lost.
So restrain yourself, allow conviction to return.
Your journey in this place without promise,
Lost, but apathy replaces your wounds.

Moist, the ground, from those that passed before.
Those who know what you feel can't reach you here.
They failed to teach you what they gave so much for.
Turn inside yourself, and scars will turn away.

Something more, you know you need.
Your fragile remnants filled with craving for it.
Something you had found, only to be taken away.
something you won't allow yourself to find,
not until your desperation heals you.

For now you lie in wait, knowing.

"This will heal," you say,

as bereavement continues.

Your thoughts race, though, without regard,

and you pray you have time.

Lost to you,it's unfamiliar,

the feeling that flashes.

You continue this way, drained,

and you fall well enough behind.

You catch your breath, enough for now,

until they find what's left of you.

This made me sad for some reason. It's well thought out.

I really like this poem. It's very descriptive and the rhythm helps it flow very well. Great job!
