Camping

Camping

A Poem by nimaid
"

This came to me in a dream. It feels like I didn't write it.

"

Near the dawn in early life

The forest held a fire's light

And I, a simple camper near

Content to be such without fear

Shamelessly I'd strike a spark

And send away the fearsome dark

Establishing my own design

And mark the very flame as mine

Then once the flame did burn too hot

And spark did drift into my cot

Consuming flesh and fabric whole

Then darkness shred my very soul

I still must camp, as most men must

Without such things we're filled with lust

But now my fires I do retard

For fear of even more flesh charred
