FEAR

FEAR

A Poem by Fanicia E.
"

Thursday Thoughts

"
I am scared of going back
To that grey room
Where everything tastes stale
And the color has drained from my face.
Confined in a space
Where I am no longer myself
And where being unbroken
Is akin to befriending a stranger

Stunning message in so few words! I love the way every line is stated in an original way, yet the message overall is very relatable. The last four lines are especially thought-provoking . . . could conjure up many scenarios for different readers. It reminds me of how distancing it was, way back when I was a perfectionist. Being free to embrace our flaws (we all have 'em) is the opposite of being in a stale box (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie

Grammar is fine. Favorite line is "And where being unbroken is akin to befriending a stranger." You did in portraying your emotion in this piece, well-done :)
