AS SACRED BECOMES THE PAST

As sacred becomes the past,
the old times laugh youth away.
The words, the music thrilled us
with elated visions of life, and we
remember her lonely seduction
at the high school dance:
'in love like this,
crazy but it's true--
I only want to be
in love with you...'
