Wicked Veins

Wicked Veins

A Poem by Daydreamer
"

Something I wrote randomly in 4 minutes.

"
These wicked veins were

getting too narrow

from my bitter state

enclosed in a body

that'd do nothing

but feel all wrenched

and a heart that shrouded

in blackness (in vain)from

the grudges it has built in

I didn't want my life to revolve

around the same small circle...

so I woke up one morning when

the only pulse I believed would

make me feel alive;

was finally on my way

the only way to collapse

the lumps in these veins;

the only real breakthrough,

was choosing to forgive

Hi Manal. Reading your poem reminded me of my early twenties days when I was seeing a therapist. She told me that the person I hurt most with my refusal or inability to forgive was myself. I did not believe her for some time. But I have felt those effects that you speak of and I am still learning to let go and heal. Thank you so much for sharing.

This is such an honor xoxo
so glad you loved it
Very smooth poem filled with emotional release. You let the anger linger it will eat away at your soul till there is nothing but bitterness in your heart.

Ah forgiveness and the alleged release that brings. I like how the tension builds in the poem. To write this "randomly in four minutes" says to me that you have quite a talent ! Nice poem. Penny

Wow, sometimes the ideas for the best poetry come to us quickly! Beautifully written and so true and profound. Only thing is the seventh line sounds a little odd, maybe you mean something like "a heart that is shrouded"...Otherwise I like this very much.

Wow, this is nice. It is different and is such an amazing piece when it was created within four minutes. I can't recall spending under thirty minutes on a poem or short story. My mind tends to wander and gather other ideas all at the same time. It gets frustrating some times. Excellent job!
