Today I took your picture down.

Today I took your picture down.

A Poem by Lee W. Deason

Today I took your picture down.
Mine was not even in existence at this point.
Something to be taken sharply but felt not so much.

You crossed an alleged cursed ground one day to see...
Me behind twisted metal.
I was isolations prisoner.
Persistently I wept.

Contagious it must have been.
It is okay to deny it.
Give them the story you need to.

It is only fair to give immunity.
You were a true friend to me.

Where has it gone?
The boy who was still standing next to me.

He is some where else.
Instead I find myself still behind this twisted metal.

You stepped down as you departed.
Mutual understanding of how things work out now.
Pathetic I am, I am finding nothing.
Only what "used to be" or "what was once upon a time".

Nothing can replace the consistent pitter patter.
In solid time. Symmetrical.

Read this to me one day.
But make it irrelevant and backwards.

I miss you.
Your gone and I am pathetic in eyes.
Sorry, but I have nothing to apologize for.
As you do not either.

Your happy, and that is what matters.
Even if it is consistently out of my time.
Asymmetrical.
