For That's What It's Worth

For That's What It's Worth

A Poem by Scott Thompson
"

Midnight musings

"

Everything and nothing, my heart is my own

Made of flesh but at times hardened like stone,

A gold mine to some, misunderstood by many

Borrowed by ones but not kept by any

Steal it, use it, desire it, abuse it,

Lie for it, cry for it, give up or die for it

For that’s what it’s worth

in 4th line..i read it as "borrowed by ones"

but wow, i just love this piece...all those things are hearts are, and do and how other people treat it...

but we would die for it...

like the title and last line...remind me of Buffalo Springfield...

Was this the brevity you were searching for?
I enjoyed this very much. It's probably one of my favorites of yours. Simple with a nice rhyme, but not lacking in depth or emotion.
Great poem c:

I'm learning the art of brevity AND the value of it as well! Thanks Bri
Really cool, this one speaks loudly and expresses some deep thoughts found only in the heart. Really nice Scott.
