Hatefully Loving Innocence

Hatefully Loving Innocence

A Poem by Nadia Zahran

Absolving your innocence
Your innocence is what drives me to you
Controlling arduous tasks to find a new
New middle ground
New silence all around

Condense my speech because you’re not concerned
Caring is malformed to you
As long as the illicit is bare
As long as you can scent me there
Right there in your bed
Under your skin
Feeling you within
Within my mind is where we sleep
Sleeping is nonexistent
Nonexistent to me

Energy that dies in release
Absolving my innocence
My innocence is what drives you away
Away into that infrared atmosphere
That atmosphere you like to call home
Home that’s infested
Bugs in my mind

Forcing me to time the moments
The despair
The contents of your hair
Your innocence drives me to you
My innocence drives you away
Away
I’ll make it so you’ll never want to stay
