Undeniable Idiosyncrasies

Undeniable Idiosyncrasies

A Poem by Nadia Zahran

Condescending mind steams asphalt

Asphalt
Coated on hands
Hands make daylight scream

Screaming for surface

Screaming for time

Time
Time
Traffic lights

Lights

Cocaine

Slowing

Down

Time

Entrapped by bullets of youth

Bullets of love
Killing the love
Love of no one

One
Moment is what I need
Needing to escape tall monstrosities

Needing to feel sure about conformity

To
Day

Days kill
Killing spirit of life
Living in days of sin
Sin
Controlling action
Controlling views
Viewing my replica of propaganda

My replica of sanity
My replica of
Me

Tearing under red severed skin

Skin
Fighting off reform
Burning manipulated body

Body

Turning into a pure high

A high unknown

Unknown

The way
Chilled fire grasps me
The way
Melted ice consumes me
The way
Listless paper absorbs
The way
I’m feeding off this adrenaline

The way
I’m a fiend for remorse
The way
I
Am

Honest and worthwhile thoughts in the poetry. When I was young. I needed travel, to test life and feel the adrenaline of testing life and death. I liked your words. Feel of Jack London in these words. Thank you Nadia for sharing the amazing poetry.
