Nuclear Existence

Nuclear Existence

A Poem by Nadia Zahran

The details of last night escape me
Tattered dreams torn apart in misshapen, tattered clothing drenched with perspiration and anxiety
The sheets look ironically perfect now
Considering the very imperfect state that led up to this perfection

I donʼt recall what was said
So, I donʼt know if I regret words spoken out of haste
I canʼt conceptualize the perfection of this imagery
Thatʼs really all it is, though
Perceived perfection
A facade put up in order to mask the scramble of our reality

The shadows imply complacent perfection as well
A dustless, ivory wall that hides the imperfections of our flawed personas

This perfection is fake
A mere painted picture of what reality should be

Or could be
But, never is

I love how you use the words. Tempting, wanting and making the reader believe what you wrote.
"This perfection is fake

The above lines. Amazing. They could stand alone. Thank you Nadia for sharing the amazing poetry. I enjoyed this one.
