Firefly

Firefly

A Poem by Gaige

The image of loss is pretty in your eyes
Such a beautiful, petty criminal
Facing the hangman for pitiable crimes

I lay my head down at night
Fathoming the the darkness of your life
Pray I dwell upon the light

The last of dying embers
Unloving and unwhole
Signal for somone to catch you
To keep you warm and close

They won't ever know
You have to lie and deceive
In your heart-bound cage
For your soul to breathe

Heaven doesn't need your pitiful crimes
And you won't ever know
How pretty you make loss look
In such sorrowful eyes

So beautiful and ever-changing.
Made me smile in a sad, knowing way.

It really is really good work....
