The earth has spoken words of sorrow,
Its voice has left our hearts broken.
Why these words, why now, why us?
Why has it taken of its own?
The breath of life we are reminded is a loan
For the departed, we shed our tears,
With the survivors we share our cries.
The wind of death has yet again risen
But we gaze to the heavens for the living
With one voice we scream above our pain.
With one voice we cry hope.
We journey together with the dead and the living
For at the earth’s voice, we are reminded who we are,
what we are; a seed of the earth, a people.
