Chapter 7: Obsidian Sea

Fear.

Shaking, eyes shut.

Fists clenched.

And then, 

Silence. 

Eyes opening.

Breathing 

tense.

Freed from gravity's savage kiss.

Course set, engines firing.

And I see

I finally see.

A God's-eye view of the ocean, and the mountains.

The forests,

burning.

The mountains, 

crumbling.

And the vast oceans,

boiling.

Oh God, the end.

Never again shall a seed sprout from the ground,

ne'er again will the sunrise illuminate the sky in grand blues and searing greens.

My island home

collapses.
