Showerhead Liberation

Showerhead Liberation

Showerhead Liberation

                         by Odin Roark

Merely the on-turn of a knob

Willingness offers its quiet

Earthly wants rendered still

Mindful needs given release

So it is

In epiphanous showers of awakening

Where everyday barbarous clinging

Succumbs to hot and cold waters

Dashing scablings-in-waiting

Gushing over would be barbed captivity

Shocking resistance

Into retreat

With luck

Clarity becomes apparent

Battle fatigue abates

Closed eyes of survival

Find calming strategies

Directions become void of aggression

Peaceful contol becomes clear

How soothing for some

This simple morning habit

This willingness to allow

 Some

Break the bondage

With singing

Others with prayer

Some

With laughter

Aware freedom’s purge

Knows many choices

Cleansed

The off-turn of the knob

Begets quiet echoed dripping

Like the humble resonance

Of Tibetan bells

Channeling healing for all to hear

For all to embrace

Even as many ignore

Showerhead liberation

Everyone’s private time

For many

One’s tenuous sanctuary

Amidst modernity’s chaos

Not bad. I think you might have layered things on a bit heavy, which I'm not really a fan of - you shouldn't bake a cake that's all icing, for example, and that's somewhat what this feels like. If you wanted to look over this I'd say simplify the less important bits and use them as a trail leading to the really interesting parts, which is where you can go all out. Otherwise, it looks a little cluttered.
