TO THE EARTH

TO THE EARTH

A Poem by Souladareatease
"

CREATURES THAT LIVE IN COLD MIRRORS

"

creature of the cold, called upon me
stared in my eyes, breathing me in
fluidly, nestled, reflecting my skin
he said "my name is seconds", and then time began

running water only fed his mystery
mirror fogged, askew went movement
I heard him say, something, quite disturbing
"trace do I not, line upon form"
"you the host opposite but warm"
"give unto me, stance in Your place"
"I will give thee, unyielding desire"
"those that conquer, and these that tease"
"all that I want is for You to feel me"
"let me feel the earth, stroke upon land"
"carry, culled fleshed of bit, nibbling hands"
"you've had enough and need such sleep"
"this is but easy, in my place so deep"
"cold devours this, need for endless strife"
"go on, go on, wipe the mirror clean"
"look back within my eye, see what I have seen"

my eyes had wept, the eternity felt
in dragging carcass stained, black upon reflection
my hand reached out, grabbing him then
solidly things grew cold, caressing me in
asleep at the wheel is the way it did seem
I turned back around to see the mirror with steam
he walked out, into the world, here I do set
waiting for seconds to finally come back

Woah this is deep.

heard him say, something, quite disturbing
"trace do I not, line upon form"
"you the host opposite but warm"
"give unto me, stance in Your place"

Was I witnessing a possession? Or were you conversing with your darker half?
This is both haunting and perplexing. But nevertheless a very enjoyable read!
