darkness

darkness

A Poem by ofelieangelie
"

just something

"
out on the edgeless darkness
weeping willows cradle the moon
reflected in our gourds,
we drink and are warm.

translucent dusting of snow
like summer condensation
dripping from an ice-cold milky-way sky

& your laughter, like ice-cubes
rattling sweetly in lemonade smiles
out on the edgeless darkness,
you were alight.

This was something! The imagery was fantastic, especially:

"like summer condensation
dripping from an ice-cold milky-way sky"

This image was vivid and led so well into the next stanza with mention of ice-cubes. The ideas flowed well from one to the next, not feeling choppy, but natural. I'm not entirely sure what to make of it all meaning wise, but there is definitely a lot packed into a short piece to mull over for a while. If I have an epiphany of sorts, I'll let you know, but for now, thanks for sharing this, it was worth the read! Nicely done:)
