Speaking to a Stranger

Speaking to a Stranger

A Poem by Omar

In the cold and
Unbreakable,
Dark side of the moon
We have been distanced
By fleets of callous tumbleweed

Tides changed and now
The phases are different.
The push and pull reversed

The phases
Are different.

I lose myself amid the stars,
For the center of gravity
Dislodged
And I wander,
And I wonder
And I wither

Orbits change
And I am frightened
And the phases--

Moonbeams turned
Solar flames
And sober games
I would have never
Conceived.

A canopy
Sky, new
Not certain it
Shelters me
From the vacuum of the
Cosmos

And as I speak to you
You have been
Reformed
Or have you--

Your twists and turns
And orbits--
Cast further into the coal of the sky

And the phases
The phases,
Are different.

. ah, enchanting and mesmerizing ... an intriguing and intense response to the change one experiences in someone else who is very close ... (i suppose) ... this piece personifies poetic brilliance in all its glory ... except that you must never wither ... now that is not acceptable ... (dark side of the moon is one of my favourite pink floyd albums) ...
