Dulls the Senses!

Dulls the Senses!

A Poem by Onlyme

Dulls the senses!

Snort some more!

Wipe it
on
your gums
and cleans
around
your mouth.
To make
yourself
look presentable.

Shoot up
again,
trying to hide
the needle marks

from sight
With long sleeved
jumpers.

Between your toes.
And in the thigh, it goes.

Hidden with shoes
and trousers of
course.

Good,  no one sees?

Oh,
 but yes
they can tell!

You're a junkie.

After awhile
as your
gaunt in the face
skinny
and have
cold sores.

Agitated
Addicted
and
moody.

Oh what
a curse!

On a downward
spiral
of
demonic
proportions
To hell
and beyond.

Till
death
intervenes
or helps
is at hand.

To maybe
save you!

If your
lucky or not.

A roll of
the dice
you see.

Each time
you dabble
and do
these wicked
things to
yourself!

I really enjoyed this poem. I read it with the enthusiasm of a circus ringmaster, asking me to "step right up" and dare take the gamble of drug use. I don't know if thats how you intended it, but either way it's wonderfully written.

Either way Emmy, just glad you got something out of it!
