Missing You

Missing You

A Poem by Onlyme

She avoids him like the plague
Hides in the bedroom.
He is always out in the car
or seeing his mates.
They only spent time
together in bed asleep.
Then odd asked question
do you want a coffee?
Across the kitchen asked.

Or it's your turn to take the
kids to school.

Lost proper communication
and quality time spent together.

How times change.
And you start to drift apart.

She sits in the toilet and cries
her eyes out in private. Wipes
her tears and goes back to
pretending all is okay for the
children.

He gets drunk with his mates
at the local pub. So he does
not have to come home
and talk to her.

How sad this families life
is...

The missing doesn't only go with the far distances, sometimes we miss those whom are near us more than those whom are far, we miss their genuine selves, in my opinion the routine can kill the spirit of love, the couple need to always have understanding and friendly relationship, they need to keep their passions and romance alive with always trying or adding something new to their life, the smallest of things make difference.

This reminds me more of a blog rant than a poem; however, the author does make her point well, and it is very easy to discern the upset she feels in her life and marriage. There is a longing for something more, something better that comes across in the words clearly.
