Even in our After...

Even in our After...

A Poem by Onlyme

We all want to leave a mark
on this planet, before  and after
we depart.

Even if it's just something for
our kids, family, friends whoever
means the most to us.

We want to be remembered for good
times. more than the bad.

Something that made them smile,
happy, or they learnt from us, that
is practical and helpful, during their
remaining times on this earth.

I guess that is why we have graveyards.
So we can still visit loved ones.
And find comfort and love.

Let alone share moments to talk to them
still, and place some flowers and toys.
That they cherished and loved.

The views from the graveyard my mother
in law is laid to rest. Is so picture perfect.
As well as peaceful and tranquil in general.

When you go there. You feel as thou, Your
in another place. Giving you time to reflect
and share golden moments with your loved one.

My own parents got cremated. And placed under
a sapling ( a young tree). To grow and
mature with age. Back home where I come from.

I guess even our resting place. Can give us comfort
and peace. Knowing our loved ones left. Can visit
us and share time with us.  Even in our afterlife.

Even in death,
we are still here,
if not physically
but spiritually.

We hear you
talk to us,
We feel you
presences,
And undying
love for us.
Beyond time
and place
We are together
forever.

No one can ever
take that from us.

This is a great message to remind us of! Making a difference is very important. I once made a poem about "dying twice" once in life and once in memory. The eworst of the two would be to die in memory. Thank you for sharing a topic such as this! I enjoy your poems very much!!!
