What Crazy's Like

What Crazy's Like

A Poem by Hannah Erickson
"

Exploring ideas and such

"

There are trees growing by the river

Making more progress than me

My writing is lazy

Don't want to raise my pen

Just let it do it's thing

There's nothing else to do

No one here to love

So this is what crazy's like

I'd like to pour it down a drain

Help the trees grow

Wrap them up in straight jackets of bark

Give the river a new aura

Make it into a liquid aurora

Follow it down to the sea

Set myself free

That's my job anyway

Anyway, you asked how I've been

Sure, and artist bends reality

But we don't always lie

Down to the ocean- Let's go

Connect with a frothy god again

It's okay- just a suggestion

Just thought it would be nice

To follow the new Northern Lights

And London's bridge is falling down

Down

Down

Your frustration with docility is only rivaled by the desire to break out, hard. I love it! Cursed is the mind of one who lives in the past. Awesome work girl;)

About
This is the only place where my writing from high school still exists. A lot of it is embarrassing to adult me, but I'm not going to begrudge teenage me of her thoughts and feelings. I may add som.. more..
