Supernova

Supernova

A Poem by Oscar

I love(d) her

I feel my space shuttle’s engine begin to give its last cries of dear life

My eyes so frantic and scared set gaze at the vast nothingness space has to offer a lost astronaut.

I quickly grab my helmet and float to try to prevent this to come to an end

It felt like the light years i was away from earth caught up to me as i tried reaching for you.

That night

Or day

Who knows

I finally reached you, i got to hold you, i tried to mend the broken and lost pieces that had once been the steel and armor that carried me through space.

It was gone

My oxygen tank became hollow as i began to try to find my way back inside.

Everything became so transparent.

As if you were there but not there.

I finally put out my last bit of energy that space food can give a desperate heart

And i reached for you.

I wanted to come back inside but as i held you

You did not feel like you belonged to me anymore.

So as a dying astronaut in space i let go of the shuttle and as i floated, i watched it deteriorate

Fall

Consumed by the earth’s grasp and plumet in a fiery ball.

[I love(d) her so dearly]
