Glory

Glory

A Poem by osman
"

How the soldiers in WW2 stole my Glory

"
The call for one to bear his arms
The time to fight upon command
"For king for country" is the call
Thus began the Second World War

The bloodiest battles ever fought
Countless sacrifices never to halt
Global destruction as never percieved
Glory and victory alas achieved

I envy the men before my time
they stole the glory that could be mine
The men who slayed the men who died
The thought of them by my side

We deploy we fight we die together
We thrive we succeed and protect each other
We mourne we grieve and bury each other
Some live some die we remember each other

How to quench the thirst for war?
The thrill and adventure I want it all
Explosions and corpses what a sight
Berlin to Stalingrad I want to Fight
