Wished Away

Wished Away

A Poem by Carnation

Why does my soul keep fading
From the lighter shades to grey
For the sun loses a ray of light
Every time I'm wished away

For I wake up once summer's morn
The sky is clear and blue
But this image will fade fast
As I'm wished away by you

For I lay upon a field at nigh
And the grass is painted in crimson
So for all those who fought for me
I wished myself away for them

For I sing to the Lord in choir
We are all in harmony
But because I am the "devil's child"
I was wished away by destiny

For many places I have been
And many sorrows I have seen
But I don't regret, nor will I forget
All those who took that road with me

I got the idea for this poem from Billy Boyle's song "The Last Goodbye"
