Understanding Human Complexity

Understanding Human Complexity

A Poem by Vertu Rose
"

A poem of life's journeys, the desires of man, and the pursuit of something more.

"

The ending everyone wants.
Happiness in never a mere thought.
From this empty world, I'm stretching my hand out again.
Reaching for some distant dream.

As the world continues its circular path,
My dreams, coil into a tight grotesque worm,
Its damp fragile body becomes more than
Demons dare to swallow.

I cant send you to fight .
The world blindfolds your eyes with;
Hate, lies and illusions.
Moral values evaporate with the drought.

From this desolate world, you stretch your hand out again.

There is no fruit that awaits you today.
Empty handed you sleep off the disappointment;
Yet here we are fighting for the substances that keep us alive

I kept losing everything precious to me.

And yet from this wicked world, I stretch out my withered hand,
Reaching for something pure and meaningful.
Like a pearl taken from its sanctuary,
The world, my heart
Became vacant, something was stolen;
Innocence.

The ending I want,
The future is never a mere thought.
From this empty world, I stretch out my battered hand,
Reaching for some semblance of humanity.

As the world continues its downward slope,
My dreams bloom into a vision,
An image  becomes more than I can bear.

I cant send you to fight.
The universe opens your gray eyes with;
Death, war and fear.
Moral values condense on the windows.

From this distorted world, you stretch your hand out again.

The fruit that awaits you today,
Given to you from eve,
Leaves you rotting.
Yet we fight for some scrap of purity.

We keep losing what is precious to us.

And yet from this disenchanted world, I stretch out my shaking hand,
Reaching for something pure and meaningful.

Like a ripple in a pond,
The world, my heart
Reaches an understanding of,
Human complexity.

It seem we can't win sometime. But when we do. We do appreciate the sweetness and pleasure. A powerful poem. A lot of open questions. Ending was very good. A excellent poem.
