A Defeated Battle.

A Defeated Battle.

A Poem by We are young.

You grew old, you changed your ways
Well you left me here to stay the same.
Never much of a closure,
just goodbyes, and bittersweet hugs.
You brought the rain back to Washington,
cleansing everything I had done,
everything I had ever been.
The fight to be together, see each other,
ends today, and not be force.
But by the choice of us both.
We will be so many states apart,
to explore, oh you love to explore.
You got out of here fast.
You are nothing less than love,
you taught me to love and trust.
Even from all these miles away,
I will still be your babies aunt
I will still be your best friend,
I will still love you.
You made me who I am.
Kaylee, you gave me more than I deserved.

What a beautiful, bittersweet transformation... the journey from the sweetness of what was to the world of letting go... drifting apart but staying connected. Such tenderness even in the pain.
