Secretly Shattered

This poem is about murder but also about how people can feel so depressed, they feel as though they could break into a million pieces.

Secretly Shattered

 

Brittle bones,

snap swiftly.

 

Falling feverishly,

Like frigid flurries,

through the somber sky.

 

Profusely puncturing

The geranium ground,

Shattering sharply,

 like glistening glass.

 

Rapidly receding

Into the silky snow,

Eternally entrapped under a

Swelling sea

of ivory ice.

I really like this poem. The alliteration works well and makes the intense words even sharper. I can feel the snapping of the bones and the shattering of the glass. Really nice piece.
