A Borrowed Verse

A borrowed verse

From a friend yet made.

A borrowed vision

From another's journey.

I see my path 

In the writings of fellow dreamers.

I find my truth

In the steps yet taken.

Love found and lost

Life created and cultured.

Confidence replaces fear

Excitment replaces anxiety.

In a world of systematic patterns

Refuge is taken in the company of the passion-driven.

As I embark on this journey

I shall keep my pencil by my side.

Like a soldier setting out for battle

Words are my protection in this overwhelming world

I think you need to walk your own path - find your own truths... live your words. Being me or any other is not the same as being YOU. I could say more - but you ARE a work-in-progress and I don't want to put any "spoilers" out.

Brilliant. If it's a work in progress and since you introduced combat into the last stanza, imagine trench warfare in WWI or island-hopping in WWII. I can imagine this applying to the desert, urban and mountain of Afghanistan and Iraq.

'Words' are your protection in this overwhelming world ... interesting. For me, it is the 'worlds' that my spirit travels to when I write that serves as my protection from the overwhelming world. If your meaning of 'words' can be synonymous with my 'worlds' ... then I can relate. :)
