God's Splendor

God's Splendor

A Poem by Penny Lusk
"

Kept thinking of something to write watching the storm last night.

"

Night sky, filled with clouds,

A mere star or two showing,

Light flashes, reflecting across the pillows of cloud and sea of night,

Lightning flashing God's might.

His power, rightfully bright.

The power soaring in branches, growing across the sky,

Lighting the world, from all of death to life,

So much power built into so much beauty.

Clouds light up with His powerful splendor,

Lightning branching in twos and threes, from its home to the ground,

Shaking the Earth with a thunderous after-roar,

Beauty blinding the watcher, portrying intense power.

Bright white-yello against the dark blue-black,

Four complete branches and many miniatures reaching through the sky,

One kissing Earth with the power of God,

His splendor, for all to see, the one powerful enough to light the world,

He can burn it as quickly as he made it, swiftly and masterly,

Or light it, and let His light shine onto the ever sinning Earth, giving a shock of hope.

This is a beautiful poem, and a fine tribute to the creator of it all. Nice Job.
