Unforgettable

Unforgettable

A Poem by Penulis Kecil
"

I was asked to write about my experience feeding a giraffe.

"

Blue eyes meet brown

angled features;

face to face;

fragile soul meets gentle

elegance and charm;

hand extended;

eager eyes meet refined

majestic creatures;

carrot out;

tamed soul meet wild

natural calm;

unforgettable.

Penulis Kecil
I tried to write this in a way that meant you can read it one of two ways -- either by leaving a break between the first and second lines of each stanza (eg, blue eyes meet brown / angled features), or with the first and second lines a single sentence (eg, blue eyes meet brown angled features). The meaning is slightly different in each one, but not so much that it disrupts the rest of the poem. I'd love to know whether people feel this works or if it takes away from the poem in general! And, of course, any and all honest comments are welcome (including general constructive criticisms). Thanks for reading and reviewing!
