love and other underestimations

love and other underestimations

A Poem by Penulis Kecil
"

A soppy thing about the first time I skyped with a particular someone whom I had met through IRC (text-based chat).

"

What grabbed me first

was the littlest of things, that

pulled my attention and held

it there, like a dog at a bone;

like me at you; the fly,

drawn,

into the sticky mess of web.

What grabbed me then,

the smallest of things-

-the way you fidgeted-

just the way I do.

You were already my world,

just words on the screen, but

I was already smitten; stuck

on you, like craft glue to fingers;

like wet on water; the sugar

spun

over a child's cheeks.

What keeps me now,

the sweetest of things-

-the way your heart beats-

just the way mine does.
