Unrequited

An enigma

Just beyond my grasp

 

I reach for you

And you are gone

 

With each day my craving grows

And creates an enormous frustration

 

This yearning defies all reason

If only it would concede to another

 

If I was able to surrender

This impossible conquest

 

I’d no longer be haunted by you

 

But I am paralyzed

In this awful place of want

 

Filled with an insatiable hunger

For that which escapes me

Wow, this felt so sincere and the emotion so raw, that by the end of the piece a part of my heart almost ached as if it were me who wrote it, as if I was the one in the position of unrequited love. I think that's the mark of great work, when someone else's writing can make you feel a way you weren't feeling before reading. This is a personal thing and I have no business here, BUT
your creattivity is shown in this wriitng AND
in your writing you have grabbed us where we hurt and
you demand that we solve this conundrum. So, you got
me here, your poem does that --- it makes us feel something
