A Poem by Petar Oklobdzija

Movement in time went unnoticed,
people saw
but refused to see.

A struggle to find what doesn't
want to be found,
a search everlasting,
this dark knows no bounds.

The new life sees the old,
the old refusing to understand
what it has always wanted to be.

Peace in solitude,
is this the way?
Time moves on,
memory frays.

Stuck trying to tell them
you know what to do,
they see gold,
you only see blue.

Take this and do that
and follow their line,
"You'll grow up," they say,
one day you'll be fine.

If nobody knows,
not even you;
why not take that leap,
join the few?

Continue to walk,
feel that cold sun;
let go of fake worry,
the real pain will be done.

Whilst not wishing to get into the idea of bouncing reviews. Where you do one of mine so I will do one of yours. This is an impressive piece. The way you piece together just the right phrases to complete the meaning of the write. The fact that we do not move through the ups and downs of life in a mostly constructive way.
For some reason here I am reminded of Maslow's pyramid of wants. And the fact that the answer to a problem is on the other side of the problem. And of course, my belief that there is no such thing as a destination. Our learning is on the journey. Very well expressed.

i really like the idea of this...at least as it speaks to me.

don't fret everything...just move forward and take life in stride...if we shy from it...we will never take that leap...

Actually very positive poem. You have talent to spread hope. Well done.

This is awesome! I guess this poem is about the norms and traditions prevailing in our society...not too sure though. Anyway, the ending was solid! Enjoyed it!
