You said, once, long ago

‘Are you feeling alright, my dear?”

Being the goddess you were, you saw me,

Hurt, when no one else seemed to see past the façade.

And with something so simple, a peppermint candy,

You stole my breath away.

 

‘Don’t do it’, were the words I would say to myself

Even now I have the urge. But now, I--

Know. Know so much more than I did before.

It made risks seem easier to swallow. Like that peppermint candy.
