Unmarked Grave

Unmarked Grave

A Poem by N.Sevilla

Cotton covered ground.
Scarlet drops on the icy mound.
An unmarked grave; it stares intently.
The stone face; it pulls me gently.

Lover's quarrels and wars with no end,
Gone to quickly for a chance to mend.
Forgotten cries and treacherous lies.
An uncarved stone: the only disguise.

Who will mourn for you now, brother?
Who will bring you flowers, mother?
Who will kiss your cold lips, my love?
Tell me soldier, are there angels above?

As seasons fade, so does memory.
Eroding windstorms: your worst enemy.
Clinging onto the land of sun,
But frozen fingers break off one by one.

Feel my warmth, oh unnamed soul!
Keep the love your sudden death stole.
What you are now you weren't then.
A million voices of long lost men.

You are so unbelievably talented. The intensity and emotion in every piece you write blows my mind.

This piece did just that.
