Black Ice and Starry Skies

Black Ice and Starry Skies

A Poem by pletta

.transverse, temporal fractures.

A line of lights,
    .sub-orbital.
  -with more
    .compound fractures.
Black and white,
    .hyphema left.
And your beautiful eyes
Like mirrors,
    .globe rupture.
One broken, one bright,
Stand-off,
Red, next to the white,
A supernova
In the streets, and in the skies.
    .left hemothorax.
        .high-speed,wind-screen, vehicle-ejection.
The Milky Way silhouettes a somber collection,
Cascades of,
    .sporadic, ventricular contractions.
        .cardiac arrests.
And final distractions,

    .terminal prognosis.

Trivial watchers standby
As you lie on the road

Two feet away and all alone

In the streets and in the skies
With a broken heart
And fading eyes.
