Guilty IsA Poem by Madeleine Celeste
Guilty is the thought that startles you awake
And the thought that keeps you up until you cry yourself to sleep again Guilty is a stare into the mirror And you try not to look yourself in the eyes For you fear that guilt is showing Guilt is knowing that you have done it It being however scandalous or hurtful as you feel But you have done it And now there is no taking back What you have done. Guilty is a question "Why?" Saying that you're seeking self-reflection And answers you know very well you do not want to find.
